Los Angeles – Nintendo will introduce a new high-definition
game console, possibly even before the game industry’s E3 Expo in June, and
then release the new hardware late next year, multiple sources tell Game
Informer. The company is reportedly already demonstrating the system — which
may or may not match the graphics available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
— for game publishers, with the aim of providing an attractive array of launch
titles.

Game Informer’s sources did not provide any details on potential new
features on the HD game system, such as motion control or online gaming.

A
report earlier in the week indicated that Nintendo plans to drop the price of
its Wii console to $150 on May 15, which could help move existing Wii inventory
before the launch of a new system.
