Westford, Mass. – Aylus Networks, a provider of infrastructure software for supporting video communication services over mobile networks, has raised $16 million in a venture capital deal led by m8 Capital, a U.K.-based investment firm.

Founded in 2005, Westford, Mass.-based Aylus helps mobile operators and “over-the-top” service providers shift their business models to take advantage of the broadband mobile Internet and increase revenues with new media services.

Aylus helps providers extend their offerings with premium video and other rich media services.

Other investors in the company include Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.
