Never one to let dull truth get in the way of a good entertaining story, Ricky Gervais is considering a three-hour podcast that he will do live during the 2012 Golden Globes. Which he has not been invited to host. Unless he has.

According to his blog, Gervais would provide “alternative commentary,” with contributions from long-standing comic foil Karl Pilkington and friends like Louis CK, Chris Rock, John Stewart and Larry David. “People at home can have the telly on with the sound down listening to us online say things that no broadcaster could get away with,” Gervais wrote. “The biggest live webcast ever? Who knows? Who cares? What’s fun is the shit we might come out with. No money. No sponsor. No guide lines.”
