Zynga to release mid-core mobile game from November team

Zynga will be releasing Battlestone, a mid-core mobile game developed by the November Software team Zynga acquired earlier this year. Neither company acknowledged the deal at the time, however. That was disclosed in a blog post earlier today by November Software’s Szymon Swistun.

“We realized we could accelerate game development by combining our team’s expertise building blockbuster console games and Zynga’s strength in building social games on a massive scale,” Swistun wrote.

As can be seen in the demo video below, Battlestone is a different gaming experience than FarmVille and the other casual social games Zynga has been known for. As such it could help Zynga attract new players or retain those that have lost interest in Zynga’s previous hits.

The free-to-play action combat game has been in development under the working title Golden Arrow, and is built on the team’s own cross-platform 3D engine that November said delivers 60 fps capability on mobile and on-demand content streaming.
