Microsoft vets raise $2.3m for Spindle Labs search


Boston – Spindle Labs, a new, Boston-based company developing information search engine technology, announced it has raised $2.3 million of venture capital in a deal with Polaris Ventures, Greylock Partners, Lerer Ventures, SV Angel, Atlas Ventures, Broad Beach Ventures, Project 11, Ray Ozzie and Raman Narayanan.

Spindle’s app helps consumers find updates from businesses and organizations.

The company was founded by Pat Kinsel, Alex Lambert and Simon Yun, all former engineers and managers from Microsoft’s New England Research and Development (NERD) center in Cambridge.
