Neil Patrick Harris is dreamy in Nerdist web series

Neil Patrick Harris co-stars with Henson puppets in "Neil's Puppet Dreams," his slightly twisted new series for the Nerdist Channel.

While the entire family can enjoy Neil Patrick Harris when he hosts the National Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 6, only those with a slightly twisted sense of humor should watch the multifaceted actor’s new series for the Nerdist Channel.

Neil’s Puppet Dreams brings viewers into Harris’ sleeping world, which is inhabited mostly by an assortment of the Miskreant Puppets created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. But don’t expect Kermit: these puppets cheerfully sing a song detailing what happens to a person who falls from a great height (as can be seen in the video below).

Each of the seven episodes is filmed using a different cinemagraphic style. As Harris told the Hollywood Reporter, “It was a carte blanche opportunity to experiment with different styles of shorts with puppets without being told by networks or studios that won’t work and here’s why.”

Harris and his fiancé David Burtka play themselves. They also created the seven-episode series with Janet Varney, and the three of them are executive producers along with Brian Henson and Nerdist’s own Chris Hardwick and Seth Laderman.
