Sumo Logic raises $30m for cloud-based big data


Mountain View, Calif. – Sumo Logic, the Mountain View-based developer of a cloud-based service helps IT professionals search, analyze and visualize big data in real time, said it has raised $30 million in its third round of funding, led by Accel Partners.

Previous backers Greylock Partners and Sutter Hill Ventures also participated in the round, which the company will use to expand research and development activities and increase investments in sales, marketing, and other go-to-market resources.

Sumo Logic now has raises $50.5 million since its inception.

“The funding positions us well to aggressively expand our powerful cloud-based analytics and log management service to a very broad section of the market,” said Vance Loiselle, the company’s president and CEO.
