Beats Electronics this morning announced Ian Rogers, formerly the CEO of Topspin and GM of Yahoo! Music, as CEO for its newest music service, project “Daisy.” Rogers will be responsible for overseeing Daisy’s direction, vision, and strategy, and working alongside singer-songwriter, composer, and producer Trent Reznor, who was also recently appointed the position of COO. In addition to “Daisy,” Rogers will be in charge of creating a brand new company using the licenses and technology acquired by Beats’ streaming system, MOG. Not much is known about Beats’ new streaming service other than it will be a subscription service around $10/month and subscribers will have a large music library. “Daisy’s” anticipated launch date is Fall 2013.
