o AOL Launches AOL Music Now
Subscription Service
Dulles, Va. - AOL announced on Tuesday the launch of AOL
Music Now, which offers subscribers unlimited on-demand streams and
downloads of more than 2.5 million audio tracks, and thousands of
music videos from labels including Sony BMG. The launch comes nearly
ten months after AOL's acquisition of MusicNow from Circuit City;
the music service initially launched in 1999 as FullAudio. A basic
subscription to AOL Music Now costs $4.95 per month and includes
access to streaming AOL Radio stations with some premium content
from XM Satellite Radio. For $9.95 per month, users get unlimited,
on-demand streaming and downloading of songs to a PC, where they
remain while a subscription is active. A $14.95 subscription tier
adds the ability to download unlimited songs and music videos to
portable players that support Microsoft's Windows Media Audio "PlaysForSure"
program. Visitors to the site without a subscription can create and
share playlists, and purchase music a la carte at a cost of 99 cents
per track and $1.99 per music video. AOL added that it partnered
with consumer electronics maker Creative Labs to offer members a $50
discount on its Zen Vision:M 30GB portable media player.

New York - SpiralFrog, an advertising-supported free music

disclosed. New York-based SpiralFrog plans to launch beta testing
for its service, which will also include music videos, in late 2006.
The service will feature digital rights management technology to
help prevent piracy of downloaded files, although the company did
not name a technology partner. SpiralFrog told CNET News.com that it
has raised more than $10 million in initial funding, but did not
disclose the names of its investors.

o MTV
Acquires Full Ownership of MTV Japan Joint Venture
Tokyo - Viacom's MTV Networks announced on Tuesday that it
has acquired full ownership of its MTV Japan joint venture from H&Q
Asia. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Prior to the
deal, MTV Networks was a minority shareholder in the venture. MTV
Networks plans to integrate MTV Japan with Nickelodeon and the Flux
digital media brand it operates in the Japanese market. MTV Japan
was created in 2001, following H&Q Asia's acquisition of Japanese

Asia-Pacific region and will enable the company to accelerate growth
in Japan and the region. Another Viacom property, BET Networks, last
week acquired full ownership of its interactive unit, which was also

West Hollywood, Calif. - Ticketmaster announced on Tuesday
that more than 1,000 tickets to Barbara Streisand's upcoming
national tour that were purchased from Ticketmaster using stolen
credit card information -- and later placed for resale on various

Moriarty. "We are working closely with law enforcement to identify
the source of this fraud and prosecute to the full extent of the
law." The company has posted on its website a list of the cancelled
Streisand tickets to date, which will not be honored even if
