Chicago
– Appolicious, the operator of a directory and reviews site for Apple’s iTunes
App Store, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired AppVee, which operates
similar sites for the iPhone and Google’s Android mobile platform.

Financial
terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

AppVee was founded in 2008,
shortly after the launch of the iTunes App Store, while Appolicious launched in
2009.

The two sites combined offer thousands of user-generated reviews of
mobile applications, including over 1,100 video reviews.

Chicago-based Appolicious
said it will add more social features to its site, including the ability for
users to create profiles and curate lists of their top apps.
