– CBS’ (NYSE: CBS) Last.fm digital music service has announced that unsigned artists who
own global rights to their tracks may now upload their songs directly to the
service. The tracks will appear on the artists’ own pages on Last.fm, and the
option will be seen by users as "Play direct from artist." However,
the company said the tracks from unsigned artists will be considered
"promotional," and won’t earn them royalties.
