– Redbox, a unit of Coinstar (NASD:  CSTR)
that operates a network of $1-per-day DVD rental kiosks, has reached new
distribution agreements with Fox (NYSE:  NWS) and Universal, agreeing to a 28-day delay in
offering new releases in exchange for improved economic terms and more Blu-ray
titles. The deals will also result in the termination of lawsuits filed by
Redbox against the two studios over the release window issue.

Redbox recently
signed a new deal with Warner that provides a 28-day window, while Fox and
Universal recently signed new agreements with Netflix that include similar
windows.
