San Jose,
Calif.
– ActiveVideo Networks, a
provider of cloud-based interactive TV technology, announced on Wednesday that
it has acquired TAG Networks, the developer of a TV-based games platform.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

ActiveVideo said the
deal will allow it to integrate game development into its platform for cable
system operators and consumer electronics industry.

ActiveVideo said its
technology is currently deployed in around 5 million homes.

TAG’s management
team and staff will be relocated to ActiveVideo’s corporate headquarters in San Jose, Calif.
