Reston, Va. – comScore, the provider of Internet audience
measurement services, said that a processing error caused it to under-report
usage statistics for Yahoo by 2-3% in June. "The Yahoo case is a
regrettable error which was the result of processing specific to Yahoo,"
wrote Linda Abraham, an executive vice president at comScore, in the company’s
blog. "As such, it was an isolated, one-time error that did not affect any
other client’s data." The corrected numbers mean that Yahoo page views
fell 4.7% in June, rather than the 7.4% originally reported by comScore, and
time spent on its sites was down 4.3%, rather than the reported 6.4%.
