Columbia, Md. – BoxTone, a developer of software designed to
help clients manage mobile devices, said on Wednesday that it has raised $7.5
million in its second round of funding from Lazard Technology Partners.

The Columbia,
Md.-based company said that the proceeds will fuel its product development
activities and corporate expansion.

BoxTone’s software is used by more than 250
clients to manage and monitor smartphone platforms, including the iPhone,
BlackBerry, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile.

The company said that it has
seen increased demand in recent months, hiring 20 employees since the beginning
of the year and expecting to add another 20 by year’s end.
