Philadelphia – Satellite TV provider DISH Network (NASD: DISH) plans to
offer subscribers the option to stream live programming at no extra cost to
mobile devices such as Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) iPad and iPhone, RIM’s (NASD: RIMM) BlackBerry and
smartphones running Google’s (NASD: GOOG) Android operating system, the Associated Press
reported.

The feature will require that subscribers own hardware such as a
SlingBox, which lets users watch premium home TV channels while on the go from
Internet-connected devices.

DISH sister company EchoStar (NASD: SATS) owns Sling Media, and
markets a DISH set-top with SlingBox features.

The mobile streaming is expected
to launch for Apple and RIM products in September, and for Android smartphones
in October.
