Los Angeles – Apple (NASD: AAPL) plans to release a new version of its
Apple TV device that will see the price tag chopped to $99 and its name changed
to "iTV," Engadget reported, citing a source.

The new device will
reportedly feature similar components as the iPhone 4, and be able to stream
content from iTunes.

The new iTV is also said to limit video resolution to
720p, apparently due to limitations with the A4 processor, but will feature new
complementary applications and an App Store.

Endadget reports the device is
expected to be introduced in the fall.
