Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) is testing a new advertising
feature called Sponsored Map Icons, which allows businesses to pay to have
their logos displayed on Google Maps when users zoom in on their area, AdAge
reported. The beta service is initially limited to well-known U.S. companies
with multiple physical locations.
