Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) has enabled Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) users to
login to Google services using the OpenID platform. The move allows Yahoo users
to more easily and quickly open a new Google account, or access online services
like Google Docs, Reader and Calendar using their existing Yahoo accounts —
and not have to create a new account and locate a verification email. "We
have found that a much larger number of people complete the email verification
process when this method is used," the company said.
