Los Angeles – A Canadian law firm has placed bids to acquire
several BitTorrent file-sharing sites on behalf of an unnamed client, who
TorrentFreak postulates is Hans Pandeya — who has previously offered millions
to acquire The Pirate Bay and Mininova.
The operator of BitTorrent community
Demonoid told TorrentFreak that Pandeya last month approached him with an
offer, which was declined.
The Winnipeg-based law firm Thompson Dorfman
Sweatman told TorrentFreak it is working on behalf of a U.S.-based corporation interested
in the assets of the BitTorrent sites at issue.
None of these sites, which
requested anonymity from TorrentFreak, reported being interested in selling.
