Salem, N.H. – Laser Light Engines announced on Tuesday that
it has raised $13 million in its second round of financing, from investors
including IMAX Corporation (NASD: IMAX) and previous backers Braemar Energy Ventures and
Harris & Harris Group.

New Hampshire-based Laser Light Engines said it will
develop a custom version of its laser engine for use in IMAX digital projection
systems.

"The explosion of 3D and Digital Cinema worldwide has projector
manufacturers and, ultimately, exhibitors looking at our high-brightness light
source to replace traditional Xenon arc lamps and solve the brightness issues
associated with 3D presentation," said Laser Light Engines CEO Doug Darrow.

The company will also use the funds to accelerate product development,
engineering and marketing efforts.
