Los Angeles – Apple (NASD: AAPL) has apparently reversed its practice and
is now accepting ringtone creation applications at its App Store for the iPod
and iPhone touch, TechCrunch reports. At least five such applications are
currently available for 99 cents from the App Store, which it should be noted
still require syncing to a computer to enable the custom ringtones. Apple began
offering the ability to create ringtones out of tracks from iTunes for an extra
99 cents back in 2007.
