San Francisco – Twitter on Monday began rolling out its
Promoted Tweets ad platform in users’ timelines.

The company partnered with
HootSuite on the new feature, and will be experimenting to see where and when
Promoted Tweets from advertisers are shown in the timeline.

Twitter noted that
not all HootSuite users will see Promoted Tweets, and those who do may see
different ones in different places in their timelines.

"Since their
introduction, users have engaged with Promoted Products on Twitter at rates
that far exceed typical forms of online advertising," the company said in
a blog post.

"This next phase will bring Promoted Tweets to a wider
audience and help even more people discover interesting accounts, people and
information they may otherwise have missed."
