San Francisco – JiWire, the provider of advertising through
a network of 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, has acquired NearbyNow, a developer of
mobile location technology focused on retail and mobile merchandising.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mountain View, Calif.-based
NearbyNow enables brands to show users current product catalogues, and tell them
whether a product is currently in stock at a specific nearby store.

Clients
include Nike, Levi’s, Estee Lauder, Hearst, Macy’s and Nordstrom.

San
Francico-based JiWire plans to combine its existing location-based advertising
platform that runs across Wi-Fi and mobile with NearbyNow’s ad platform to
increase ways in which advertisers can reach new local customers.
