Los Angeles – Major record label Universal Music Group is
donating more than 200,000 master recordings to the Library of Congress, according
to The Hollywood Reporter. The collection — the largest audio donation ever
received by the LOC — includes recordings from Billie Holiday, Louis
Armstrong, the Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland. The
recordings will be digitized and some eventually made available for online
streaming.
