San Francisco – ShopSocial, the provider of a social marketing
and commerce service, has raised $2.1 million in venture capital financing,
TechCrunch reports.

Metamorphic Ventures led the investment round; X/Seed
Capital and several angel investors also participated.

San Francisco-based
ShopSocial was founded in 2010 by BuzzLogic co-founder Todd Parsons.

The
platform will reportedly let brands include buttons on display ads and product
pages that let consumers "share" particular items on Facebook and
other social services.

Consumers who share a deal in turn receive rewards, such
as gift cards.
