New York – A "high-placed Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) executive"
tells The Hollywood Reporter that Netflix (NASD: NFLX) needs to raise the price of its
streaming-only service from $7.99 to $20 month, before the company would
consider licensing HBO TV shows. "HBO believes in content exclusivity,
especially for high-value content. That’s our rationale for not selling
streaming rights to a competing subscription service, Jeff Cusson HBO SVP of
corporate affairs, told THR, adding, "[HBO] has no intention of making its
content available for streaming on Netflix."
