New York – Socialistic, a start-up social media-focused
marketing agency, said on Monday that Havas Worldwide has taken a majority
stake in the company.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. New
York-based Socialistic was founded by Colleen DeCourcy, former global chief
digital officer at Omnicom’s TBWA.
According to a press release, the company "will house a team of
application technologists working alongside a network of journalists, writers
and videographers who understand the new direction of media, with creative and
strategic leadership that has been trained in both the advertising industry and
the technology sector."
Socialistic plans to develop mobile applications, in-store
experiences, branded digital products and brand-owned media destinations.
