Washington – President Barack Obama on Monday nominated
Donald Verrilli Jr., a former attorney with record label trade group the Recording
Industry Association of America (RIAA), to the post of solicitor general of the
U.S. Verrilli, who notably led the recording industry’s successful copyright
case against Grokster at the Supreme Court, currently serves as White House
deputy counsel.
