Philadelphia – Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) on Wednesday announced that its
Xfinity TV service now lets its cable subscribers watch TV episodes and movies
on demand directly from an iPad, either at home or on-the-go. The service
offers programming from partners including HBO, Showtime, Starz, Encore,
Cinemax, TBS and BBC America. Comcast said its Xfinity TV app has been
downloaded more than 1 million times since November.

I like how Comcast is trying so hard to get caught up with the rest of the industry, and this is a step in the right direction, but it’s not quite enough…their Live Streaming only works on the iPad, and it only works if you’re at home…where you’re TV is. I feel lucky to be a DISH Network customer/employee as their TV Everywhere is exactly that…I can watch Live or recorded TV anywhere in the world I can get a 3G connection…not just sitting at home on my couch. Odd they would put such a crippling leash on the service but I’m sure they’ll get the bugs worked out soon.
