Washington – LivingSocial, the social shopping firm whose
Daily Deals service is now in more than 170 markets, plans to expand its
service with mobile "real-time" deals over the next two weeks, All
Things Digital reported. The service, which will debut in D.C., will let
consumers search for discounts at nearby restaurants and businesses while on
the go. The company plans to test the concept through a pilot program, giving
merchants hardware such as iPads to help them instantly create deals that may,
for instance, help bolster a slow lunch crowd.
