Atlanta – Sony Ericsson and Verizon Wireless (NYSE:  VZ) on Monday
introduced the Xperia Play, the first “PlayStation Certified”
game-focused Android smartphone. The device features a 4-inch multi-touch
display; 5.0-megapixel camera; Android Gingerbread 2.3; a Snapdragon 1Ghz
processor and Adreno 205 graphics chip; and analog D-pad controllers.

More than
50 game titles — including “The Sims 3,” “Tetris” and “Asphalt
Adrenaline 6” — are expected to be available for the launch of the Xperia
Play, slated for the spring of 2011.
