Palo Alto, Calif. – Facebook has acquired Beluga, a
developer of mobile group messaging technology.

Financial terms of the deal
were not disclosed.

Founded in 2010, Beluga’s platform enables group messaging
on mobile phones.

In a note on its website, Beluga said it will continue to
function as normal, maintaining present customer accounts and data.
