Luxembourg – European streaming music service Spotify said
on Tuesday that it now counts one million paying subscribers.

Spotify offers
both an ad-supported, free version of its service, and a premium, paid version.

The company reported having around 10 million total users in September 2010.

CEO
Daniel Ek said in a statement today that 15% of users are now paying for
Spotify.

The service is currently available in U.K., Sweden, Spain, Norway,
Finland, France and the Netherlands.

Spotify is preparing to launch in the
U.S., and has reportedly signed licensing deals with Sony Music and EMI
already.
