San Francisco – MindSnacks, a developer of educational games
for mobile devices, announced on Thursday that it has raised $1.2 million in a
new round of funding, led by Felicis Ventures.

500 Startups and Mitch Kapor
also participated in the investment round, proceeds from which will support the
hiring of additional engineers and game designers.

San Francisco-based
MindSnacks says its games are designed to "deliver addictive ‘bite-sized’
learning experiences."

Its current apps focus on language learning, and
areas like vocabulary, spelling, grammar and sentence construction.
