New York – Sean Parker, an early co-founder of Napster and
investor in Facebook, is part of a group of investors angling to acquire major
record label Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG), which put itself up for sale in January, All
Things D reported, citing sources.

The investor group to which Parker is a
party reportedly also includes supermarket billionaire Ron Burkle and Doug
Teitelbaum, of hedge fund Bay Harbour Management.

Since investing in Napster,
Parker has worked with Plaxo and Facebook, and most recently has been advising
music streaming service Spotify.
