Los Angeles – French video game publisher Ubisoft is
launching a film and television production unit, with an eye toward adapting
its own game titles for the small and big screens, Variety reports.

Ubisoft’s "Prince
of Persia: The Sands of Time" was adapted into a movie that grossed $335
million worldwide; other titles the firm has published include "Assassin’s
Creed" and "Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell."
