New York – Following the postponement of its planned initial
public offering, Internet telephone service Skype is now in talks with both
Facebook and Google (NASD: GOOG) about a potential joint venture, Reuters reported, citing
two sources with direct knowledge of the discussions.

A deal between Skype and
either firm could be valued at $3 billion to $4 billion, a source told Reuters.

The talks are reportedly in early stages, and Skype may still opt for an IPO in
the second half of the year.
