San Francisco – Revel Systems, a San Francisco-based developer of iPad and cloud-based point-of-sale systems for the restaurant and retail industries, said on Tuesday it has raised $3.7 million in its first round of funding, led by DCM.

Jason Krikorian, a general partner at DCM, has joined the company’s board of directors.

The company said it will use the funds to expand sales and marketing, as well as roll out new products and grow its tech sales and support network.

Revel’s products serve restaurants and stores with multiple locations, giving staff and management a central place to view and retrieve transaction and billing information.
