Dulles, Va. — Mark McLaughlin will step down as the president and CEO of Dulles-based Verisign, the provider of Internet infrastructure and domain name services said.

McLaughlin, who has been with the company since 2000 and led it for the past two years, is leaving next month to become CEO of an unspecified private company.

Jim Bidzos, Verisign’s founder and previous CEO, will become the company’s new president and CEO, effective Aug. 1.
