Sterling, Va. SkyBitz, the Sterling, Va.-based developer of satellite tracking tools, said on Wednesday it once again plans to provide real-time tracking of the Capitol Christmas tree on its 4,500-mile journey from California’s Stanislaus National Forest to DC.

The company’s special site, TracktheTree.com, also will include photo galleries from the tree’s caravan; blog entries, facts about many of the tree’s tour stops and opportunities to interact with other tree followers on Facebook and Twitter.

The tree is expected to begin traveling on Nov. 8, and arrive in DC Nov. 28, making stops in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The tree lighting ceremony, hosted by Speaker of the House John Boehner, will be held on Dec. 6. The tree can be tracked here.
