Savtira Corp., a B2B cloud commerce solutions company founded by Timothy Roberts, announced that Nolan K. Bushnell has agreed to serve on its advisory board.

“Mr. Bushnell will be an invaluable member to our advisory board,” said Savtira chief executive officer Timothy Roberts. “His work has left a legacy for generations. Not only is he a technological guru, but he is an entrepreneurial leader. We are incredibly humbled and honored to have him serve on Savtira’s advisory board.”

Based in Tampa, Florida, Savtira describes itself as being is in the business of digital distribution with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ecommerce platform that is a turnkey system for the distribution, marketing, merchandising, and selling of both digital media and physical goods in a single store and a single, unified shopping cart.

Roberts founded Savtira in November 2010, having previously founded Savvis Communications and Intira Corp., which after several transactions eventually became part of Terremark. He also started Infinium Labs, which was best known for its ill-fated Phantom Entertainment video game distribution platform. The name lives on, however, as the maker of the Lapboard gaming peripheral.

Bushnell is one of the undisputed godfathers of gaming. He co-founded Atari Inc., which not only pioneered arcade games but also brought them into the home with the Atari 2600. Among his many awards, Bushnell is in the Video Game Hall of Fame and the Consumer Electronics Association Hall of Fame, as well as being given a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Fellowship (see video below). He currently serves as co-founder, advisor and chief game visionary of Anti-Aging Games, a subscription-based site of games scientifically designed to stimulate the brain.

“It has been my life’s work to create and incubate ideas into reality. I am passionate about innovation and I see the prestige and potential in Savtira Corp.,” Bushnell said. “I wish to share and educate other entrepreneurs from the mistakes I’ve made to the successes I’ve had. I have the opportunity to do so in becoming an advisory board member with Savtira and I look forward to the new journey with fellow pioneers.”
