sonysmartwatchThe Next Web reports that Sony has announced SmartWatch 2, a follow up to its SmartWatch, which the company is positioning as the perfect second screen for your smartphone. The device allows users to make and receive phone calls, view maps and navigation, check email and use apps to monitor exercise and related fitness activities. The watch includes near-field communication (NFC) capabilities, enabling users to connect the watch to a phone or tablet with minimal effort, and features a 1.6 inch, 220 x 176 pixels having an Android like UI. Stefan K Persson, Head of Companion Products at Sony Mobile Communications said, “Competitors are only now launching first generation devices, while we are already launching a 3rd generation device with all the insight gained from over half a million customers combined with Sony’s wealth of technology expertise to create the best ever smartwatch experience.”  Read more
