Santa Barbara,
Calif. – Sonos, the developer of
wireless, multi-room music systems for the home, has raised $25 million in new
financing led by Index Ventures.
Founded in 2003, Santa Barbara, Calif.-based
Sonos makes a range of high-end wireless home audio systems, and recently
debuted a more mainstream, $400 system that can be controlled by Apple’s
iPhone.
The company will use the funds to fuel expansion, including upcoming
product launches in China
and Japan,
Index Ventures’ Mike Volpi, who will take a seat on Sonos’ board, told All
Things D.
