Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) has acquired social search
developer Angstro and hired respected entrepreneur Rohit Khare to work on its
Google Me social networking project, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Palo Alto,
Calif.-based Angstro was co-founded in 2006 by Khare and investor Salim Ismail,
and had raised at least $225,000 in funding.
The firm has developed tools to
export data from Facebook and other social network, as well as a social search
service.
