New York – Web link shortening service Bit.ly announced on
Thursday that it has raised $10 million in its second round of funding, led by
RRE.

New investor AOL Ventures also participated in the round, along with
previous backers OATV, Mitch Kapor, Founders Fund, SV Angel, Joshua Stylman,
Peter Hershberg, David Shen and Betaworks.

Founded in 2008, New York-based
Bit.ly said that over 40.6 billion bit.ly links have been clicked so far this
year.

The company said it counts over 3,000 customers for its custom URL
service, including Amazon.com (amzn.to), The New York Times (nyti.ms) and NPR
(n.pr).
