San Francisco – Sharethrough, a provider of social video
advertising services, said on Monday that it has closed a $5 million first
round of equity financing, led by North Bridge Venture Partners and Floodgate.

Other
investors include Ron Conway, Ron Bouganim, Steve Blank and Auren Hoffman.

Founded
in 2008, San Francisco-based Sharethrough said brands including Sony, Xbox and
LEGO have used its social video ad products.

The company says internal studies
of its products show that "shared views average 3x more view time than
views delivered through paid media, and that social video marketing delivers
significant increases in brand lift, engagement and sharing."
