San Francisco – Apple (NASD: AAPL) is expected to host a media event on
March 2 in San Francisco, at which it will introduce the next version of its
iPad tablet computer, All Things D reported, citing sources.
The device is
rumored to be thinner, and feature a front-facing camera for FaceTime, and may
feature a new chip that allows it to run on either GSM or CDMA-based networks
(i.e. AT&T or Verizon).
Apple has sold more than 15 million units of the
first iteration of the iPad over the past year.
