The Hollywood Reporter reports: “The NFL and Skydance Media are launching a new joint venture, one that will combine assets from NFL Films and Skydance Sports to create what they are betting can be “the premier global multi-sports production studio.” Both the NFL, through its investment arm 32 Equity, and Skydance Media are making “substantial” investments in the JV, in addition to the assets being provided by both parties. The new venture will produce sports media content across genres, in both scripted and unscripted formats. Sports has become a hot source of content in recent years, as docuseries like Drive to Survive and The Last Dance connect in pop culture.”
