Portland,
Ore.
– Urban Airship, a provider
of mobile content delivery services, announced on Tuesday that it has raised
$1.1 million in its first round of funding, led by True Ventures with
participation by Founders Co-op.

Portland,
Ore.-based Urban Airship compares itself to a mobile version of Amazon’s EC2
cloud-based, pay-per-use content delivery network.

Customers include Tapulous,
for whom the company powered multiplayer features on its "Tap Tap
Revenge" iPhone game.

Urban Airship will use the new funds to extend its
product offering and to expand its engineering team.
